  1. I personally dont think art galleries will be taken over by technology, because people will always appreciate art. Traditional aspects of art such as paintings, sculptures etc will always be around, even if they are influenced by modern technologies. History, for a start, will never change and will always be documented through places such as museums. It is an interesting point to think about and a scary thought that technology could take over!

  2. You’ve made a really intriguing point Tom! It’s quite a menacing thought to think that technology, in the future, will have the opportunity to replace what we currently view as ‘art.’ That being said, with the concept of art being as broad as it is, rather than the new age of artists ‘taking over’ perhaps they’re just trying to broaden our perceptions. Looking at the current exhibits in the Usher Gallery we can see incorporations of projections/videos (the contemporary) and the more traditionally styled installations/sculptures. In my opinion, anything created with the purpose of being a work of art will be exactly that, regardless of its medium.

  3. I think this is a really interest point that you have made here. With our generation being based mainly around technology it does make you think

Maybe things like old technology will be put in galleries to replace the art work that exists. I think this will be more when we become the older generation and technology has advanced so much further. Or maybe you could go to ana rt gallery and view all the things on the internet already

I think that the idea of going to an art gallery as a day out is already getting lost within our generation as there is now the internet and all these different gadgets and apps that are always being constantly developed…

On the other hand though I also feel like art will never be lost, it will just develop with our time, something similar to the Contemporary art exhibit at the Collection and there will always be an audience who wants to see the art pieces in person

    🙂
